China's zero calorie sugar province-ANHUI
With the rise of the health concept of "reducing sugar" and "lowering blood sugar", sugar substitutes have been widely welcomed due to their low glycemic index, low calorie content, and good taste. Sugar substitutes, also known as sweeteners, are artificially synthesized sweeteners such as sucralose and acesulfame. On February 15th, the reporter learned from the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province that in 2024, the export of sucralose in Anhui Province will reach 5200 tons, with an export value of about 65 million US dollars. The export quantity and value have ranked first in the country for many consecutive years, and the export targets cover countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, and South Korea.
The raw material for the production of sucralose is sugar. In recent years, the Department of Commerce of Anhui Province has played a leading role in quota guidance, timely and efficiently applying for sugar import quotas for enterprises. By 2024, it has obtained approval for 9991 tons of sugar import quotas for enterprises, and all of them have been fully implemented.
With the promotion of healthy eating concepts, the demand for sucralose will continue to grow steadily, and it is expected that the global market demand for sucralose will reach over 40000 tons this year. Next, the Provincial Department of Commerce will continue to strengthen guidance services, efficiently apply for import quotas, promote product structure upgrading, assist enterprises in exploring international markets, and accelerate the cultivation of new foreign trade momentum.
