Preparation method of HMB-Ca
2025-03-17
Method 1:
Using 4-methyl-4-hydroxy-2-pentanone (diacetone alcohol) as the reaction material, water as the solvent, NaOBr aqueous solution was used for halogenated reaction, followed by acidification and isobutanol extraction. The HMB acid in the isobutanol extract was directly salted with Ca (OH) 2 to obtain β - hydroxy - β - methylbutyrate calcium. This method has the advantages of high product purity and low environmental pollution.

Method 2:1) Reaction of glacial acetic acid, sulfuric acid, and H2O2, followed by vacuum distillation, yields a solution of peracetic acid;
- 2) Mix the product obtained in step 1) with diacetone alcohol, add methyl acetate as a solvent for reaction, and then distill and collect the 70 ℃ fraction. The residue after distillation is a solution of β - hydroxy - β - methylbutyric acid;
- 3) Add water and sodium hydroxide solution to the distillation residue obtained in step 2) to adjust the pH to 6.0-7.0. Heat and dissolve the mixture, then filter it. Add calcium chloride to the filtrate, stir the reaction, and adjust the pH to 6.5-7.0 again to precipitate β - hydroxy - β - methylbutyrate calcium. Filter and dry to obtain the product
